About the artist
Xiu Fen Zhou (1942-2022) was a Chinese American artist. She specializes in multiple medias, such as woodcut, silkscreen, oil painting, and hand-painted furniture. She spent early part of her career as a dedicated art professor committed to teaching hundreds of college students. She graduated from the Central Academy of Art in Beijing. She was invited by Philadelphia city officials to participate in a cultural exchange program. She created many pieces of art works while collaborating with the Fabric Workshop in Philadelphia. Her artist website is www.xiufenzhou.com.
After moving to NYC, she worked as a full-time artist for a few antique furniture studios and hand-painted and restored oriental antique style furniture. She worked on hand-painted furniture for over 20 years before she retired in 2007. She continued to create furniture pieces after her retirement till 2012. See inventory list in the next page.
